Some of this book reaaalllly dragged on. I’m finding this series is much more politics than action and stakes. Only towards the end was I really more interested because magic came into play. However, there is not much mention of magic throughout Assassin’s Blade and this book, so its introduction seemed very random to me and was also a little hard to visualize. I am also torn on Celaena’s character now. She is a bad ass assassin but some of the things she does are careless, stupid, childish…and it doesn’t fit her character at all. Sad to say I am not understanding the hype behind this series so far, but I will keep going with it if not to just see where the magic goes.
